350 BLEECKER STREET CO-OP
NEWSLETTER #168
September 24, 2003

Following are highlights of board discussions and building developments for August and September. As always, in keeping with the democratic character of this building, we encourage all residents to contact board members with comments or questions, to come to the design committee meetings where we discuss appearance and other visual details, and to share your ideas about the ongoing betterment of our building.

BUILDING UPDATE

Lobby:

The lobby was painted in early September. Currently, we are awaiting delivery of the lighting fixtures (an example is installed in the center of the lobby); after their installation, the ceiling will be painted.

Mailroom:

Stairways: The emergency lighting was ordered, installed, and is operational. The stairway painting is ongoing.

Library: Books in the alcove part of the gym are being donated to the Village Care Nursing Home, and the freed-up space converted to bicycle storage. The Library will continue on in the main part of the gym.

Gym: Anyone interested in serving on the gym upgrade committee, please contact Maura Geils, Apt 1-E.

MAINTENANCE

The board reminds shareholders that as a convenience, you can automatically deduct your maintenance each month from your checking account, thus having one less item on your to-do list and never having a late fee. Please check thc web-site for the form, or assk a board member.

CONDOLENCES

350 Bleecker residents were deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Stefan Kelly, 2K. A memorial service is being held Sunday 9/28, 6pm, at the Bayard Ruskin School, 18th St between 8th & 9th Avenues.

NEW NEIGHBORS

Please welcome Ryan Stempniewicz, 3-X, and Elizabeth Ferris, 5G, our newest neighbors.

UPCOMING ROOF PARTIES

The October roof party will be a Sunday brunch. Look for invitations posted in the mailroom display case.

WHO ARE YOUR BOARD MEMBERS?

In keeping with the cooperative and friendly spirit of our building, board members want to introduce ourselves, as we all live and have lived in the building for a number of years, but don t know everyone. The attached page gives you a glimpse of who we are. . .please let us know who you are.

Gregory Colucci (4C) was
ordained a Catholic Priest
in 1955, and has been in
active ministry every since.
During that time he has
taught languages, served in
the formation of students
of ministries, and served
various parish communities
as administrator and plant
manager. Greg is affiliated
with the American Red
Cross and the Critical
Incident Stress Foundation
working in the area of crisis
intervention. He has lived at
350 since 1996 and been a
board member for a couple of
years.

Father Gregory Colucci

Rob Geils and wife Maura (1S) came
to 350 in 2002, along with their
dog Shamba. Rob once said to
a college friend that he wanted
to live on the corner of Bleecker
and Charles. Rob is a Certified
Financial Planner and an active
member of the community. He
and Maura enjoy working out in
and working on improving
the building's gym, and are
looking forward to raising a
family here at 350.

Rob Geils

Laura Herbert (5M),
was instrumental in designing
and launching the building's
website. She has lived at
350 for almost a decade,
and a board member for a
number of years. She loves
it so much she recently
moved into a larger
apartment, across the hall
from her original studio. A
writer and interactive
producer by day, Laura has
a new pink 'do and lives
with fiancé Luke & their
rescue Roxanne.

Elizabeth Hochbrueckner (2B) has lived
at 350 since 2001 after living
on the Upper East Side for close to 10
years. She still doesn't know why
it took her so long to move to the West
Village. She is a Director
of Human Resources at Colgate Palmolive
and shares her life (and apartment) with
fiancé and soulmate David Seigerman.
Elizabeth has served on the board since
Summer 2002, first as a VP and
currently as President.

Nick Mallardi (1R) has lived in the
building for nearly eight years now
with his cats, Skitty and Izzy. Not
only does he enjoy gardening, he
has had a hand in the roof's
organic herb garden and
encourages everyone to try a little
fresh oregano in their pasta! He
has also planted fig trees this year
in the backyard. Nick is a
motorcycle buff and has taken
many long-distance trips on his
bike.

Armanda Squadrilli (1J) bought her apartment
in 350 in 1994 for her mom, Renata, who lived her
for many years and was much loved by the
building community. "Squad" moved here in
1999. Squad's passions are dogs, real
estate, and motorcycles, and she devotes much
of her spare time to dog rescue. She lives
in one happy family with her cattledog
rescues Titan & Argus, and Misha & Perry,
the cats.
